ClinSphere Journals values the expertise, integrity, and dedication of its reviewers. Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the scientific quality, credibility, and integrity of the journal by providing objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
The journal follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process and expects reviewers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and publication ethics throughout the review process.
Role of Reviewers
Reviewers assist the Editorial Board by providing independent expert assessments of submitted manuscripts. Their evaluations help editors make informed publication decisions while improving the quality and clarity of scholarly work.
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts solely on their scientific merit, without regard to the authors' nationality, gender, institutional affiliation, ethnicity, religion, or professional status.
Before Accepting a Review Invitation
Before accepting a review request, reviewers should ensure that they:
- Possess appropriate expertise in the subject area.
- Can provide an objective and unbiased assessment.
- Have no actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
- Are able to complete the review within the requested timeframe.
- Agree to maintain strict confidentiality throughout the review process.
If a reviewer is unable to complete the review or believes another expert would be more suitable, the invitation should be declined promptly.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
- Evaluate manuscripts fairly, objectively, and independently.
- Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
- Provide constructive, evidence-based, and respectful feedback.
- Support comments with scientific reasoning where appropriate.
- Complete reviews within the requested deadline.
- Declare any conflicts of interest immediately.
- Report suspected ethical concerns or research misconduct to the Editorial Office.
Reviewer recommendations assist the editorial decision-making process; however, the final publication decision rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief or the assigned Handling Editor.
Conducting the Review
Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts based on:
- Originality and novelty
- Scientific significance
- Study design and methodology
- Statistical analysis and data interpretation (where applicable)
- Validity of the conclusions
- Ethical compliance
- Clarity, organization, and quality of writing
- Adequacy of references
- Overall contribution to the field
Comments should remain professional, objective, and constructive. Personal criticism of authors should be avoided.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review are confidential documents.
Reviewers must not:
- Share manuscripts with others without prior editorial permission.
- Discuss unpublished findings with unauthorized individuals.
- Use unpublished information for personal, academic, or commercial benefit.
- Retain manuscript files after the review process unless authorized by the journal.
Confidentiality obligations continue even after the review has been completed.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could compromise their impartiality.
Examples include:
- Personal relationships with the authors
- Recent collaborations
- Shared institutional affiliations
- Financial interests
- Direct academic competition
Where a conflict exists, reviewers should decline the invitation or notify the Editorial Office immediately.
Ethical Responsibilities
Reviewers should immediately notify the Editorial Office if they suspect:
- Plagiarism
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Image manipulation
- Ethical approval concerns
- Inappropriate authorship
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
- Citation manipulation
- Any other form of publication misconduct
Reviewers should not independently investigate suspected misconduct but should communicate concerns confidentially to the editors.
Review Outcomes
After evaluation, reviewers should recommend one of the following:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Recommendations should be supported by clear, constructive, and evidence-based comments to assist both the authors and the Editorial Office.
